IMPHAL, April 24 -- The district magistrate of Kamjong district in Manipur on Wednesday imposed indefinite restrictions in two villages following an arson attack by unidentified armed miscreants in the morning of the same day, officials confirmed.

According to the order issued by district magistrate Rangnamei Rang Peter, villages of Gampal, and Haiyang (a hamlet of Gampal), under Sahamphung sub-division, Kamjong district, were attacked around 9am by unknown people who set fire to more than seven houses, primarily thatched-roof structures.

"The incident occurred approximately 80 kilometers east of Chassad police station, near the Indo-Myanmar border, and whether there are casualties during the incident is yet to be confirmed," police said....
