Hosts India beat NZ in women's WC warm-up
New Delhi, Sept. 28 -- Harleen Deol hit 74 and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur 69 as India women beat New Zealand by four wickets under the DLS Method in a rain-hit warmup tie ahead of the ODI World Cup in Bengaluru on Saturday. New Zealand made 232/8 after the game was reduced to 42 overs led by skipper Sophie Devine and Maddy Greene (49).
Spinner Shree Charani (3/49) and pacers Kanti Goud and Arundhati Reddy - 2 wickets each - shone with the ball. Co-hosts India completed their chase with 10 balls left, reaching 237/6 in 40.2 overs.
Sri Lanka's Sugandika Kumari was out the last ball with two runs needed as the co-hosts (241) lost to Bangladesh (242/8) by one run in their warm-up game in Colombo.
