India, April 17 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for parts of western India, including Rajasthan and Gujarat. A severe heatwave alert has also been issued for isolated areas in Rajasthan on April 19. However, no heatwave is forecast for Delhi until April 22, though temperatures are expected to climb up to 41 degrees Celsius during this period.
According to the IMD, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.1 degree Celsius on Wednesday, which is 2.3 degrees above the seasonal average. For Thursday, Delhi is likely to see a maximum of around 40 degree Celsius and a minimum of 25 degree Celsius.
