HC stays K'taka cap on film ticket price
Bengaluru, Sept. 24 -- The Karnataka high court on Tuesday stayed the State's decision to cap movie ticket prices at Rs.200, until further orders. Justice Ravi Hosmani granted an interim stay, meaning the cap cannot take effect until the high court hears the matter and makes a decision.
The court passed the orders on a batch of petitions filed by the Multiplex Association of India, some film production companies, and a shareholder of PVR Innox challenging the State's decision to impose a maximum limit on the price of movie theatre tickets in Karnataka.
