India, Oct. 28 -- The Bombay High Court has set aside an order of the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) directing the closure of a ready mix concrete (RMC) plant, saying the decision was "clearly high-handed, arbitrary and in flagrant violation of fundamental principles of natural justice".
The MBMC show cause notice was issued on September 12, a day after a young boy was run over by a cement dumper truck near the RDC Concrete plant in Mira Road.
Though the vehicle that had killed the boy did not belong to the RDC Concrete, the MBMC had issued a show cause notice to the firm on September 11 "without verifying facts", the company contended before the high court. The notice was issued after a 12-year-old boy died after the truck...
