Chandigarh, April 24 -- The Punjab and Haryana high court has dismissed a petition challenging the 2017 appointment of Dheeraj Sharma as the director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak in Haryana.

A bench of justice Kuldeep Tiwari also set aside a show-cause notice issued to Sharma by the Centre in 2022 over allegations that he concealed his academic qualifications.

Sharma was appointed as the IIM-Rohtak director in 2017. A plea was filed by one Amitava Chaudhary and others in 2019 seeking quashing of his appointment. The bench said the petitioners appeared "front faces" of the two employees whose services were terminated by Sharma.
