hc orders stay on obc quota notifications
Kolkata, June 18 -- The Calcutta high court has ordered a stay till July 31 on notifications issued with regard to the revised Other Backward Class (OBC) reservations to 140 subsections, people aware of the matter said.
Noting that legal procedures and court directives were violated by the state, a division bench comprising justices Tapabrata Chakraborty and Rajasekhar Mantha, in an interim stay, directed that executive notifications between May 8 and June 13 with regard to OBC categories made by the state government will not be given effect till that date.
