HC notice to Centre, CBI and state govt
Dehradun, Dec. 25 -- The Uttarakhand high court on Wednesday issued notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Union government, and the state government over allegations of disproportionate assets among forest officers and the reported disappearance of 7,375 forest boundary pillars in the Mussoorie Forest Division.
The division bench of justices Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Subash Upadhyay, while hearing the public interest litigation (PIL), took serious note of the alleged large-scale corruption, collusion, and ecological damage. The court observed that the disappearance of boundary pillars in Mussoorie is a "very serious issue" and directed both the Centre and the state to respond.
