Kolkata, Aug. 22 -- Lawyers at the Calcutta high court decided to abstain from all judicial work from Friday after an advocate of the court and his son were allegedly assaulted by some policemen near their residence in Bidhannagar city on Wednesday night, people aware of the matter said on Thursday. Advocate Manujendra Narayan Roy, son of a retired judge, had to be rushed to the hospital, likely to undergo a surgery, his son Sourindranarayan Roy said. A bench has directed the city police to register a FIR and file a report by Monday.htc
