HC issues notice to education dept on DPS, Dwarka's plea
New Delhi, May 31 -- The Delhi high court on Thursday issued a notice in DPS, Dwarka's plea challenging a Directorate of Education (DoE) order directing it to reinstate more than 30 students on account of non-payment of hiked fees.
DoE on May 15 directed the school to immediately reinstate the students, calling the move a violation of the court's previous orders.
A bench of justice Vikas Mahajan directed DoE to file its response within six weeks and fixed August 28 as the next date of hearing.
In its petition, the school asserted that the DoE order was against the provisions of the Delhi School Education Act and Rules, 1973 which empowers the head of the school to strike off the name on account of non-payment of fees. The plea further paint...
