New Delhi, April 23 -- The Delhi high court has granted bail to a man accused of murder, observing that the identity of the deceased woman remains unknown more than seven years after the alleged crime in 2018.

The accused, in custody since May 2018, sought bail citing prolonged incarceration and lack of progress in the case. Justice Girish Kathpalia said, "It is extremely saddening that a human being lost life in such a gruesome manner and the body was cut into pieces. But merely for that reason, the accused cannot be deprived of liberty any further."
