New Delhi, May 21 -- The Delhi high chas imposed a cost of Rs.50,000 on Delhi University (DU), finding "no merit in the appeal" it filed to challenge the pension benefits of a faculty member. A division bench of justice Navin Chawla and justice Renu Bhatnagar dismissed DU's appeal against a 2023 ruling by a single judge in favour of Ravindra Narayan Mishra, currently a lecturer at Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College. Mishra sought recognition of his entire service period under the old pension scheme (OPS), rather than the new pension scheme (NPS). The bench said DU's challenge was based on "incorrect" facts and had been pursued "in a most casual manner".htc
