Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26 -- The Orissa High Court allowed a 24-year-old woman to live with her same-sex partner after the latter's family members reportedly separated them and tried to get her married to a boy against her wish, said the court order uploaded on HC's website on Tuesday.
Hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by the 24-year-old woman of Jajpur district who insisted her gender to be that of a 'man' by exercising rights of self gender determination, division bench of Justice SK Mishra and Justice Savitri Ratho said the petitioner's woman partner can start living with her.
The bench also directed the superintendent of Police, Jajpur to provide security to the partner of the woman so that she could start living with her. Though the ...
