Bengaluru, March 22 -- The Karnataka High Court on Thursday questioned the Union government about why it cannot block instant messaging services and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) that lack physical servers in India and aren't physically subject to Indian jurisdiction.
Justice M Nagaprasanna said the court will issue specific orders on whether the Union government must block Proton Mail, a Switzerland-based encrypted email service available in India.
