India, June 16 -- The body of a 23-year-old Panipat-based model with her throat slit was found in a canal in Khanda village in Sonepat's Kharkhauda area, police said on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Sheetal alias Simmy Chaudhry. She was working as a model in the Haryanvi music industry. Before that, she was working at a hotel in Karnal. She started working in the music industry nearly six months ago.

Sonepat ACP (headquarters) Ajeet Singh said that the body of a model was recovered from a canal in Khanda village in the Kharkhauda area.
