Chandigarh, Dec. 15 -- The Nayab Singh Saini government in Haryana on Sunday divested 1990-batch IPS officer, Shatrujeet Kapur of the charge of director general of police (DGP).
The orders to divest the 1990-batch officer of the charge of the head of the police force were issued by the Home department to create a vacancy since the state government has decided to appoint a new DGP from January 1, 2026, and initiated the process by sending a proposal containing the record of five IPS officers to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Shatrujeet Kapur was asked to proceed on leave by the state government in October amid mounting pressure for initiating action against him in wake of suicide by fellow IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. On Octob...
