Chandigarh, March 28 -- Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday asked legislators to persuade farmers in their constituencies to demand fair rates when they offer their land on e-Bhoomi portal or under the land pooling or partnership policy for the establishment of Industrial Model Townships (IMTs).
The chief minister who was replying on the discussion on budget estimates 2025-26 said that 10 IMTs would be set up in the state depending on availability of suitable land.
"Unlike the Congress regime, the present government does not resort to forced land acquisition but prefers acquiring land through the land pooling policy in collaboration with farmers,'' the chief minister said while taking a dig at the Opposition.
