Rohtak, March 28 -- The authorities of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts in Rohtak, were taken aback after students reported cultivation of poppy plants alongside flowers on the campus. Nearly 100 poppy plants were discovered near the offices of the dean, vice-chancellor and the registrar.
In response to the complaint, the university has deployed a security guard to monitor the plants.
Varsity registrar Gunjan Malik said a five-member committee was formed to investigate the matter. "We have received a complaint from students and the committee is probing who cultivated the poppy plants along with flowers and their intentions. Strict action will be taken against the accused," Malik added.
