India, Jan. 19 -- In a harrowing case that rattled Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior, a police constable's wife was recently sentenced to life imprisonment for killing her own child two years ago, after he had seen his mother with her extramarital partner.

The accused, Jyoti Rathore, wife of police constable Dhyan Singh Rathore, was allegedly involved in an extramarital affair with her neighbour Uday Indolia, reported NDTV. On April 28, 2023, after her 5-year-old son saw her mother with Uday, she took this extreme step out of fear that he would reveal her extramarital relationship to everyone. She threw her son from the two-storey roof of a building, which led to his death within the next 24 hours.
