Meerut, March 26 -- In a major breakthrough, the Sambhal police have cracked the murder case of BJP leader Gulfaam Singh Yadav, who was allegedly killed by the current block chief and his father over election rivalry.

Six individuals - including the masterminds block chief Ravi Yadav and his father Mahesh Yadav-have been arrested and are set to be presented in court, said SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi.

The murder took place on March 10, in Dabthara Himanchal village, under the Junawai police station limits. Gulfaam Singh Yadav was resting in his courtyard when three assailants arrived on a motorcycle. Gulfaam offered them water and was engaging them in conversation, when the accused allegedly injected a poisonous substance into his stomach....
