India, June 2 -- In a spectacular turn of events where Magnus Carlsen snatched defeat from jaws of victory, Gukesh D earned his first Classical win over the world No.1 after a dramatic ending in Round 6 of Norway Chess on Sunday. Playing white, the world champion was up against it for most of the battle until a late blunder from the Norwegian flipped the script. Carlsen banged his fist on the table and resigned. Gukesh, a bit taken aback, walked out in daze at what had just transpired. Which was a revenge at Carlsen in Norway after losing to him in the first round. HTC, Stavanger
