New Delhi, May 24 -- The Goods and Services Tax Council will soon consider a comprehensive tax reform package covering rates rationalisation, simplification of procedures and compensation cess issues, people with direct knowledge of the matter said. The central government does not want to convene the meeting of the GST Council in a hurry as officials are working on all the three issues, they said, requesting anonymity. "As substantial issues are under consideration, proposals need to be well-prepared before the council would deliberate on these matters.
