Greater Noida man held for posting pro-pak comment online
New Delhi, April 29 -- A 19-year-old man, Monish Ansari, was arrested in Greater Noida for allegedly posting pro-Pakistani comments on a social media platform.
Police said Ansari, a barber from Rampur who works in a salon in Zeta 1, Greater Noida, posted the comments to gain "likes". His comment was widely retweeted and sparked demands for action. On Sunday, police identified Ansari through their media cell and arrested him.
Assistant commissioner of police BS Vir Kumar said Ansari admitted that he posted the comment solely for likes.
A case of public mischief was registered under the Indian Penal Code, and Ansari was sent to jail. Police also checked his background and found no suspicious activities prior to this incident.
