India, Jan. 30 -- Gold and silver prices remained firm across domestic markets on Friday, with 24-carat gold trading at near-record high levels in major cities and silver holding above the Rs.4 lakh per kilogram mark.

Among major cities, Maharashtra's Mumbai recorded 24-carat gold prices at around Rs.1,78,860 per 10 grams. Delhi trailed marginally at Rs.1,79,010.

Silver prices stood at Rs.4,101 per 10 grams in both Delhi and Mumbai, while the rate in Hyderabad was higher at Rs.4,251 per 10 grams.

Domestic silver rates are closely linked to global prices and fluctuate in line with international market trends. In addition, movements in the rupee against the US dollar play a key role.
