New Delhi, March 8 -- A 10-year-old girl died while her friend, aged eight years, was injured allegedly after a speeding e-rickshaw hit them while they were crossing a road in northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar area on Friday evening, police said.
Police arrested the accused, identified as 38-year-old Vinod Kumar. Senior officers said Kumar was in an inebriated condition when the incident took place.
The deceased was identified as Shivanya Singh. She was walking near her house with her friend at around 5pm when the vehicle hit them, police said.
A senior police officer said, "They were rushed to a nearby hospital where Shivanya was declared dead. Her friend is undergoing treatment". htc
