India, April 28 -- While deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde going to Kashmir to arrange for the return of tourists from Maharashtra following the Pahalgam terror attack became news, his cabinet colleague from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), water resources and disaster management minister Girish Mahajan, was quietly coordinating the same on behalf of the state government.

Following the terror attack on April 22, when the Maharashtra government felt the need to help evacuate tourists from the state from the valley, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis deputed Mahajan the following day. Mahajan coordinated with the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Centre to arrange for the return of 416 tourists to Mumbai and Pune by chartered flights....
