India, Dec. 23 -- A Mexican military medical aircraft carrying eight people went down in West Galveston Bay on Monday afternoon as it was nearing Scholes International Airport amid heavy fog, according to The Galveston News.
City officials said the plane was transporting two pilots and six passengers, including a pediatric burn patient believed to be headed to Shriners Children's in Galveston, a hospital known for specialized burn care.
The aircraft was in the process of landing when it crashed in waters west of the Galveston causeway, a city official told The Galveston News.
