India, Feb. 18 -- Galgotias University on Tuesday issued a clarification after facing backlash for presenting a Chinese robot dog as their own at the ongoing AI summit in Delhi. The Greater Noida university had come under fire after a video of the robot dog at the India AI Impact Summit went viral online.
The video showed a professor of the university claiming that the dog is named Orion and is capable of performing surveillance and monitoring tasks. Viewers were quick to point out that the robot dog was actually acquired from a Chinese company called Unitree.
After the backlash, Galgotias University took to social media to issue a clarification. The university said it had never claimed to have built the robodog itself.
