New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- US engine maker GE Aerospace on Wednesday said it has handed over to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) fourth of 99 F404-IN20 engines contracted for light combat aircraft (LCA Mk-1A). The delivery was made in the US. The engine will be transported to Bengaluru, where HAL is based, shortly. The supply of F404-IN20 engines for LCA Mk-1As appears to be stabilising, and if momentum sustains, HAL will be able to meet its delivery targets to boost air force's combat effectiveness. GE Aerospace is expected to deliver six more engines by December, and another 20 next year as the US firm has fixed supply chain bottlenecks.
