New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- A political slugfest erupted after a purported video of Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta emerged on Wednesday, where she urged people to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 by placing his photograph near idols at Durga Puja pandals. In the said video, Gupta is seen suggesting that people pray for Modi's health and longevity as part of a "sewa pakhwada", a fortnight of service.
While the Aam Aadmi Party said that Durga Puja was "inherently an act of service, not a commercial event, the Bharatiya Janata Party said the CM had merely urged committees to pray for Modi's good health while focusing on welfare initiatives like blood donation camps and cleanliness campaigns. P4
