India, Dec. 4 -- The first Bharatiya Janata Party leader to head Delhi in nearly three decades, Rekha Gupta has made a mark for herself in the Capital's administrative and governance structure in the span of a few months. A self-made woman leader, Gupta rose through the ranks of the party, having begun her foray into politics with the Delhi University Students' Union elections, before being elected as a councillor, and finally, a legislator in 2025. Under her stewardship, the Delhi government has made transforming the Capital's infrastructure a priority and launched multiple cleanliness drives and regulated school fees to bring relief to the common citizen.
