New Delhi, April 9 -- A new digital scan of the Titanic has revealed fresh details about how the ship met its tragic end in 1912. Over 1,500 people lost their lives when the "unsinkable" liner struck an iceberg and sank in the freezing Atlantic, the BBC reported.

Using underwater robots, scientists captured over 700,000 images of the wreck to create a full 3D replica.

The result is the most complete picture of the Titanic ever made, down to the last detail. The bow of the Titanic still lies upright on the ocean floor, eerily intact, while the stern, sitting 600 metres away, is twisted and torn, a result of the ship breaking apart before it sank.
