Chennai, Nov. 1 -- American automobile giant Ford Motor Company will revive its Maraimalai Nagar plant near Chennai which has been lying dormant for over four years. An MoU was signed on Friday for Ford to invest Rs.3,250 crore to set up an engine manufacturing unit for the export market that comes amid the Trump tariffs. Ford had exited India in 2021. "We are pleased to advance our plans and confirm the Chennai plant's vital role in Ford's manufacturing network," Jeff Marentic, president of the International Markets Group at Ford Motor Company, said in a statement.
