New Delhi, Nov. 21 -- Delhi government has issued over 200 show cause notices and 48 closure orders to construction sites across the capital, with fines totalling Rs.2.36 crore imposed on violators not adhering to dust norms, Delhi environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Thursday. He said the action was part of an intensified enforcement drive that has seen 1,262 construction sites above 500 sqm inspected since October 15. Of these, 35 projects have been fined, while enforcement teams continue to assess compliance gaps at several others, he said.
