India, Feb. 9 -- With the Bharatiya Janata Party's emphatic victory in the Delhi assembly elections on Sunday, the party at the Centre will also be governing all the National Capital Region (NCR) states of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan for the first time since 1985.

It is a region that covers 55,144 sq km, boasts some of the country's biggest and most important cities, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, is home to over 46 million people, according to the 2011 census. It is one of India's most important economic corridors.
