FM: GST revamp to make economy open, transparent
New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said the government is planning the next generation of reforms in India's entrepreneurship ecosystem, starting with transformational improvements in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.
The finance minister's comments came on the eve of the empowered GST Council meeting on Wednesday in which proposals on structural modifications, rate rationalisation, and ease of living will be considered.
