Bengaluru/Mumbai/Kochi, May 28 -- At least five more deaths were reported in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra and Karnataka on Tuesday, as the early monsoon onset continued to pound the western coastal states for the third day in a row. With this, the toll has risen to 11 with six deaths reported on Monday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to extreme rainfall in the region till Saturday. The weather department issued a red alert for two districts in Kerala and three in Karnataka for Wednesday.
