India, Feb. 21 -- Asha Sharma is named as the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive of Microsoft's gaming division, making her the new boss at Xbox. She is replacing Phil Spencer, who announced his retirement after 38 years with the company, including 12 years in his current role.

In a note published on a Microsoft blog, she addressed her team and shared her vision for the future.

Sharma shared, "Dear team, Today I begin my role as CEO of Microsoft Gaming. I feel two things at once: humility and urgency.
