India, Oct. 29 -- Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati, which functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is evaluating a proposal to present a film titled Tillotoma, based on the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College in August 2024. "The proposal for the movie has been received and is under evaluation," the organisation's chief executive officer (CEO) Gaurav Dwivedi confirmed to HT.

The brutality of the incident and subsequent allegations of police inaction had sparked widespread protests across West Bengal, leading to an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
