But, for the Singhs, the excitement of a pre-Diwali renovation was quickly turning into a logistical nightmare. Their living room, once a space for quiet evenings and family reunions, was turning into a battleground of furniture, pieces stacked one on top of another like lego blocks and covered in old sheets.
