India, Aug. 10 -- A Rajasthan farmer couple who combine traditional farming with medicinal crop cultivation and modern animal husbandry, along with four sarpanches from the state's border villages, have been invited as special guests to the national Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort on August 15.
From Barmer district's Batadu tehsil, Dewaram Panwar and his wife Dhapu have earned this honour for their exemplary work in integrating traditional farming with medicinal crops and modern animal husbandry, an official said.
