NEW DELHI, May 2 -- Filing of false rape cases causes grave injustice to genuine rape victims, besides burdening courts, the Delhi high court said in a recent verdict. The court made the observation in an order in a case where a man accused of raping his neighbour had sought quashing of FIR. The court dismissed his plea, noting the allegations were not false. Observing a rise in number of false complaints, a bench of justice Girish Kathpalia said, "Every false complaint contributes to not just unnecessary load... generating an impression in the society about falsity even of genuine complaints, causing grave injustice to actual rape victims."htc
