Ex-bureaucrats raise concerns on SC orders on environment
New Delhi, Dec. 29 -- The Constitutional Conduct Group (CCG), a collective of former civil servants belonging to the All India Services and the Central Services, has raised concerns about recent Supreme Court orders on matters relating to environment protection, including the Aravalli hills issue.
The open letter, issued by 79 former civil servants on Sunday, points to three recent judgments: the Supreme Court's November 18 decision recalling its previous order that halted retrospective green permits; the November 20 verdict accepting the new definition for Aravalli hills; and the November order barring the government from disbanding the present Central Empowered Committee (CEC) without the top court's permission.
