India, Oct. 3 -- There was a massive explosion and fire at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo, in Torrance, California near Los Angeles.

Photos and video surfaced which shows the refinery going up in flame in one sudden burst, as the reported explosion occurs. The fire continued afterwards, with smoke visible in the nearby areas.

There are no reports of injuries or evacuation at the refinery.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Torrance Fire Department is working to contain the scene. So far, there is no word on what caused the fire and explosion.

El Segundo is about 15 miles (24 km) southwest of downtown Los Angeles.
