New Delhi/Kolkata, Nov. 29 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday appointed a special roll observer to oversee the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls in West Bengal, hours after a Trinamool Congress delegation met the poll body and alleged that 40 SIR-related deaths had occurred in the state, blaming chief election commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. ECI asked the party not to influence or threaten the booth level officers engaged in the ongoing SIR.P10
