India, Feb. 4 -- An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district on Wednesday morning, officials said, with no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremor occurred at 8:57 am at a depth of 5 km. The quake was classified as mild in intensity.

Nyelam Sunil, a technical officer with the seismology division of the Itanagar-based Centre for Earth Science and Himalayan Studies, confirmed that the district experienced light shaking.

"So far, there is no report of loss of life or damage to property," the official said.
