E-commerce sales top consumer complaints
new delhi, July 5 -- Disputes in e-commerce and online sales topped consumer complaints related to faulty products and non-fulfilment of delivery, amounting to refunds of a record Rs.3.39 crore in the past two months, data released by the consumer affairs ministry on Friday showed.
This was part of total refunds worth Rs.7.14 crore facilitated through redressal by the national consumer helpline, which helps consumers to avoid litigation by directly taking up complaints with sellers.
According to the ministry, consumers are now increasingly using the helpline to easily log complaints that are taken up by the consumer affairs department and 8,919 grievances related to e-commerce sellers were processed during the period, the highest volume amo...
