New Delhi, Feb. 20 -- Few teachers from the Delhi University (DU), affiliated to the Democratic Teachers' Front (DTF), have written to the vice-chancellor, requesting to review the fee hike in PhD courses.

According to the teachers, there has been a "700% hike" in the fee in PhD courses in academic year 2024-25 as compared to 2021-22. They also said that the matter be raised in the academic council meeting.

On the issue, DU registrar Vikas Gupta fee hikes never exceed the range of 3-5%. "Our primary aim is always to keep the fees at a minimum. Moreover, DU is just responsible for implementing the fees, as they are first approved by the head of each department."htc
