India, July 9 -- After making a name for herself in Bollywood like no other, actor and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut shifted gears and began her political career last year. Since June 2024, she has been serving as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Mandi. This year, Kangana returned to the silver screen with Emergency, which was directed and co-produced by her. The actor convincingly portrayed the role of India's first and, to date, only female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi onscreen.
