Kolkata, May 26 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Dr Tapan Kumar Jana, the head of the anatomy department at West Bengal's Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital on charges of taking bribe to issue a favourable inspection report to a private medical college in Karnataka, the agency said on Sunday, adding that Rs.44.6 lakh were recovered from the his residential and official premises. Jana, an assessor of the National Medical Commission, was arrested on Saturday and produced before a court on Sunday, the statement said.
